'Ālula and Fabulous Green Sphinx Moth

The ʻālula is endemic to Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau and is critically endangered. Nā Pali coast is where the last known populations of ‘ālua exist and it is said only one remains in the wild. ‘Ālula’s pollinator is thought to be the Fabulous Green Sphinx Moth. This moth is also endemic to Kaua’i and was thought to have gone extinct, until one was discovered in the 90s. They are also protected as critically endangered species.
